ALWAYS SOMETHING NEW

In the last decade, the Arlington Museum of Art has proven its skills as a museum that never stands still. Every 3-5 months, we completely reimagine every one of our exhibition spaces with world-class exhibits that blend traditional, interactive, immersive, and emerging art forms. Now we’re scaling way up. With a footprint in the Arlington Entertainment District that is eight times larger than our previous location, the AMA has transformed into a visual arts destination with the power to inspire, entertain, engage, and reflect our community and the world.

MUSEUM REIMAGINED

In partnership with the City of Arlington and a community of supporters like you, the Arlington Museum of Art will move in and begin to transform over 40,000 square feet inside the Arlington Expo Center into a world-class arts destination.

The new Arlington Museum of Art will unite art, technology, innovation, education, and a hometown heart the size of Texas.

Out-of-the box thinking

“In Arlington, we love collaboration, a can-do spirit, and out-of-the-box thinking,” said City of Arlington Mayor Jim Ross, “and the team at the Arlington Museum of Art continues to surprise and thrill us by really putting all that into practice. It has been so exciting to see the Arlington Museum of Art find its voice in the last few years, and there is no doubt that even bigger things are on the horizon.”

HELLO, WORLD

Welcome to our new neighborhood.

When the new AMA opens in late March 2024, it will be located in the midst of the Arlington Entertainment District and just minutes from Downtown Arlington.

INVESTING IN ART = INVESTING IN PROSPERITY

The new Arlington Museum of Art is projected to attract between
$33-$38 million annually in non-local spending by 2028.
The North Texas region attracts more than 48.9 million visitors annually.

Within the region, Arlington welcomes more than 15.1 million visitors per year.
Over 50% of visitors to the Arlington Museum of Art travel over 50 miles to view our major exhibitions.

On average, visitors to the AMA's major exhibitions travel to see us from at least 40 different states and over 20 different countries.
850 million people from all over the world visit US museums annually. That's twice the number of people who attend all major sporting events and theme parks combined.

Cultural tourism represents a record-breaking $1 trillion of the US economy.

We’ll draw unlimited inspiration from around the art world and close to home. Pictured here: installation by Turkish studio Ouchhh (Atelier des Lumières, Paris 2019), Mystic Universe (Fulldome.pro and 360Art), Sistine Chapel

LET'S MAKE HISTORY TOGETHER

Thanks to our partnership with the City of Arlington, the new Arlington Museum of Art is being built on a platform for success. Still, there are many exciting ways for individual donors and corporate partners to get involved now!

From exhibition sponsorships to naming opportunities, your support will accelerate a visual arts destination in North Texas like none other in the world.

museum evolves
The Arlington Museum of Art is redefining what it means to be an art museum.

Artists don’t ask: “What is it?”
Artists ask: What can it be?

Vision. Intellect. Heart. Soul. As we envision our future outside the lines, four of our favorite artists have become our muses.
