The new AMA offers you so many artful options and flexible space for your dream-come-true event.

Whether you’re planning a wedding, reception, private party, corporate function, or other social event, the Arlington Museum of Art provides a unique backdrop for your vision. We have ten different spaces within our museum that you can choose from!

But we’re more than a venue; we love being a special place where people come to be inspired and make memories. To thank you for hosting your first event at the new AMA, you will receive a one-year AMA membership valued at $250 (see details below).

Venue Rental FAQs

There are seven (7) spaces inside the new AMA that are readily available to rent. Every space is on the first floor. Depending on availability and capacity, you can choose one or more for your special occasion:

  • Community Gallery (440 person capacity)
  • Education Gallery (72-100 person capacity)
  • Board Room (48 person capacity)
  • Four classrooms in the Education Center (30 person capacity in each classroom)

 

Additionally, our main galleries will be available for rent on a limited basis.

The venue rental fee includes the use of the museum galleries and security. Table cloths are an additional fee.

A 25% non-refundable deposit is due upon contract signing to hold a date.

All events at the New AMA enjoy the convenience of our in-house catering provided by Levy. They have a variety of menus to choose from to make sure your event is extra special! Should you be planning a wedding, you are welcome to use your own bakery for your wedding cake.

We have state of the art AV equipment and technology to enhance your event, including quality sound systems, projectors and lighting.

We offer a generous discount off of our regular admission price so that you and your guests can enjoy our exhibitions during your private event. Keep in mind that if your event is during regular museum hours, the galleries will be open to the public.
 
  • Traditional gallery – Group rate of $8 per person with a maximum of $1,500
  • Immersive gallery – Group rate of $12 per person with a maximum of $2,000
  • All access – Group rate of $15 per person with a maximum of $2,500
  • Community Gallery – always free

Yes! For an additional fee, you can rent either the Board Room or up to three classrooms in the Education Center.

Here are some general policies to note:
 
  • If you hold your event during regular operating hours, the museum and its galleries will be open to the public.
  • Scheduled performances in the Black Box will not be canceled or postponed to accommodate other venue rentals.
  • ​If you’re planning a wedding and wish to ensure that another wedding is not booked simultaneously, you have the option to pay an additional $1,000 for “exclusive wedding rights.” This fee will also give you access to use our Board Room.

Yes, there is ample parking. There is a fee for use, but you may “buy out” the lot for your event.

Venue tours will be available starting March 29, 2024. Please contact Lorie at lorie@arlingtonmuseum.org to discuss scheduling a tour and your event needs.

Yes, there are several hotels in close proximity to the new AMA, including the Sheraton Arlington, which is right next door. Visit the Arlington Convention and Visitors Bureau website for a list of all hotels in the Entertainment District.

Our cancellation policy varies depending on the type of rental and its use. Please email lorie@arlingtonmuseum.org to discuss a possible cancellation.
