Tickets for Grand Opening Exhibitions

Pompeii: The Immortal City and One Point Five Degrees are the grand opening exhibits at the New AMA. Exhibition dates are March 30 – June 23, 2024. The 34th annual Youth Art Month show, which is also part of our grand opening, runs from March 30 – May 3, 2024 in our Community Gallery.

COMMUNITY GALLERY
As a part of our commitment to accessibility, all shows held in our Community Gallery are free.

Children 15 years of age or under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Groups of over 50 people should call our office to make arrangements.

Museum Hours

THE ARLINGTON MUSEUM OF ART IS TEMPORARY CLOSED because we are in the process of moving to our new physical location in the Arlington Entertainment District. Our two grand opening exhibitions and Youth Art Month show will open on March 30, 2024.

In 2024, the museum is closed on Easter, the Fourth of July, Thanksgiving Day, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year’s Eve, and New Year’s Day.

During inclement weather, we follow the Arlington Independent School District’s closure and delayed opening schedule.

Location & Contact

The AMA is currently closed to the general public, but we are open for deliveries. Please contact our staff Monday-Friday between 10am-5pm to make arrangements. We will reopen on March 30, 2024.

Parking & Rideshare

The AMA is located in the Arlington Entertainment District, which has an abundance of privately-owned and City-managed parking lots. The closest City lot to the AMA is just behind (to the west of) the museum and is accessible from Ballpark Way. There is a $10 fee to park in this lot.

 

Arlington on Demand

Arlington on Demand is a city-wide service that will take you point-to-point anywhere in Arlington for $5 or less. Visit the City of Arlington or Arlington on Demand websites for details. Wheelchair and accessibility accommodates can be made in advance (click here for details).

Directions

The Arlington Museum of Art is located in the Entertainment District of Arlington, TX, USA. Attractions within walking distance of the AMA include the National Medal of Honor Museum (coming in 2025), Globe Life Park, Choctaw Stadium, and AT&T Stadium. 

The Arlington Museum of Art is located in Downtown Arlington, Texas, just northwest of Arlington City Hall and the Downtown Library.

Free public parking is available along West Main Street and in the 101 Center Parking Garage, which is located about two blocks away from the Museum.

Visiting from Out of Town

Welcome to Arlington, Texas! If you’re visiting us from out of town, make your trip planning easier by first visiting the Arlington Convention and Visitors Bureau for information about nearby hotels, transportation options, vacation packages, and more. Looking for restaurants, coffee shops, and other cultural attractions? We recommend you visit the ACVB and Downtown Arlington websites.

Tours & Groups

Do you like to take a deeper dive into the stories behind the art? As you explore our galleries, we recommend you take the AMA’s free self-guided tour! Once you arrive, you’ll be able to access our self-guided tour through your personal Android, iPhone, iPad, or other mobile devices with internet access (sorry, we don’t provide public WiFi). Since our self-guided tours have an audio component, we kindly request you only listen via earphones and bring your own.

Our knowledgeable staff and volunteers are available to give your group a guided tour of our current exhibition. If your group has more than 20 people, please let us know that up front so that we can arrange for additional guides.

Buses may pick-up and drop-off guests in the loading area adjacent to our front door, which is located on the south side of the building.
