THE AMA COMMUNITY GALLERY PRESENTS

Texas Photographic Society 36th Annual Member Show

May 10 - June 23, 2024

Replete with Passion and Personal Expression

The Arlington Museum of Art is proud to present the Texas Photographic Society’s 36th Annual Members Only Show.

MOS36 debuted in January at the Buddy Holly Center in Lubbock, Texas. The show was juried by Roy Flukinger, an Independent Curator Emeritus and the former Senior Curator of the Harry Ransom Center at The University of Texas. Flukinger had the daunting responsibility of selecting 50 images by 50 artists from the hundreds of submissions from TPS member artists of all levels from across Texas and around the world. All photography-based work was encouraged including digital, silver, and alternative processes. Click here for the juror’s statement and more information about TPS.

More to Explore at the AMA

Traditional Gallery

In this large space divided into intimate galleries (perfect for viewing the art up close), the AMA celebrates a myriad of “traditional” mediums, which we define as art forms that are an established part of a culture (such as painting, sculpture, textiles, photography, metalwork, etc.). Click to learn more about Pompeii: The Immortal City an incredible exhibition of artifacts and art from one of the greatest civilizations of all time.

Immersive Galleries

In our Immersive Galleries, we curate multisensory experiences that envelop viewers within the artwork itself. A unique blend of art and technology, the defining features of the immersive art installations we present are their originality, artistry, and meticulous design. Our Immersive Galleries provide nearly 21,000 square feet of exhibit space, and the walls are 18 feet tall! Learn more about One Point Five Degrees, now showing in our Immersive Galleries.

Community Gallery

Through an ambitious rotation of curated exhibits and related programs, our Community Gallery provides a platform for emerging and established artists to showcase their unique perspectives and talents. Admission to the Community Gallery is always free, and our exhibition calendar is always changing. The Texas Photographic Society 36th Annual Member Show is just one example!
