Our primary goal when working with interns is to inspire the next generation of museum colleagues to understand art as a way to do good in the world. Our interns are involved in many real-world experiences at the AMA, including art preservation and cataloging, research, marketing/PR, programming, development, and guest relations.

Meet Our Fall 2022 Interns

Our interns bring with them so much talent as well as great ideas, infectious enthusiasm, and a willing spirit! We’re so fortunate to have them on our team this fall! Say hello to:

Madi CMadilyn Curtis

Madi returned to the AMA this fall after serving as one of our summer interns. She is a junior at The University of Texas at Arlington and is majoring in Visual Communication Design. Her favorite artists are Yoshimoto Nara and Takashi Murakami. In her free time, she likes to draw and paint, as well as alter clothes.

“I like being an intern at the AMA,” Madi says, “because I get to design so many cool things and gain more design experience, plus everyone I work with is really cool and nice.”

This fall, Madi was the lead designer on the new Youth Art Month logo and brand guide. She also created illustrations for A Knight’s Tale custom merchandise, and she supports a variety of administrative, graphic design, and guest relations efforts.

Sarah

Sarah Haumann

Sarah is a senior at Mansfield High School. In the fall, she’ll attend Seattle Central College with plans to transfer to the University of Washington to study Business Management and Design. In her free time, you’ll probably find Sarah at the gym.

Sarah’s favorite artist is Marie-Anna Michaud. Like Madi, she also enjoys the people at the Arlington Museum of Art and getting behind-the-scenes insights into the varied kinds of work at a museum. She hopes to work at a museum again when she goes to college.

This fall, Sarah worked side-by-side with staff in preparing the museum for the installation of A Knight’s Tale. Sarah also supports a variety of administrative, design, and guest relations needs, and she is serving as project manager for the development of the AMA’s new Kids Create video series.
