In March 2024, thanks to a partnership between the Arlington Museum of Art and the City of Arlington, the Arlington Museum of Art will move into over 42,000 square feet of the Expo Center and Esports Stadium in the Arlington Entertainment District.

In its new Expo Center home, the AMA will be right next to Esports, which unites art and technology in exciting ways while also building community among gamers from around the world. Just up the sidewalk from the Expo Center is the National Medal of Honor Museum. When it opens in 2025, the National Medal of Honor Museum will serve as the country’s premier institution dedicated to the impact and legacy of service members who become Medal of Honor recipients.

This is only the beginning. All told, the Arlington Entertainment District is one of the most concentrated and diverse entertainment centers in North Texas. When it opens in Spring 2024, the AMA will be within walking distance of AT&T Stadium (home of the Dallas Cowboys and a premier concert/event venue); Globe Life Field (home of the Texas Rangers and a premier event venue); Choctaw Stadium (home of the XFL, Arlington Renegades, Jackals Rugby, North Texas Soccer Club, The American Rodeo, and more); Texas Live! (restaurants and music venue); the International Bowling Museum & Hall of Fame; Six Flags Over Texas; Six Flags Hurricane Harbor; plus hotels, restaurants, and outdoor parks, public art, and green spaces including Caelum Moor.

Outside the Lines: Reimage the AMA

By unanimous vote of the Arlington City Council on April 11, 2023, the Arlington Museum of Art officially has a new home: the Arlington Entertainment District! By late March 2024, the New AMA will offer approximately 42,000 square feet of exhibition space inside the Arlington Expo Center. That’s eight times the size (and creative potential) of our current location! The new AMA footprint will allow us to blend traditional, immersive, interactive, and evolving visual art forms in ways that will inspire, entertain, engage, and reflect our community and our world.

Our founders believed in art as a legacy gift to our community, and we’re so excited for all the ways the New AMA fulfills that vision! Thanks to our partnership with the City of Arlington, we’re being built on a platform for success. Still, there are many exciting ways for individual donors and partners to become a part of the lasting legacy. Learn how you can get involved.
