Arlington, TX (FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE) – The Arlington Museum of Art announced today that it received a grant of $90,000 from the Arlington Cultural Tourism Council. The grant will directly support the museum’s arts exhibitions and operations over the next year.
This is the largest single grant the Arlington Museum of Art has ever received from ACTC. The AMA is a non-profit organization that was founded by art and education leaders in 1952 as the Arlington Art Association and incorporated as a museum in 1974.
“Thanks to the generosity of the Arlington Cultural Tourism Council,” said Chris Hightower, President and CEO of the Arlington Museum of Art, “the AMA can host the kinds of exhibitions that speak to the diversity of our city and state while appealing to visitors from around the globe. Our exhibitions also provide a creative springboard for all kinds of entertaining educational programs that serve our community.”
“The Arlington Cultural Tourism Council seeks to enrich and cultivate Arlington’s Arts and Cultural assets,” said Bruce Maxwell ACTC chair. “The council is pleased to help provide monetary support to aid the museum in continuing to be a viable part of our community. A city with strong arts groups makes it a multi-faceted cultural destination.”
