The Texas Photographic Society 36th Annual Member Show, or MOS36, debuted in January at the Buddy Holly Center in Lubbock, Texas. The show was juried by Roy Flukinger, an Independent Curator Emeritus and the former Senior Curator of the Harry Ransom Center at The University of Texas. Flukinger had the daunting responsibility of selecting 50 images by 50 artists from the hundreds of submissions from TPS member artists of all levels from across Texas and around the world.

The exhibition includes a wide variety of subject matter, styles, and techniques including digital, photopolymer gravure, and silver gelatin prints.

“Because this show is a combination of different photo processes, we get to see a variety of tones and textures as well as themes,” said Natalie Neale, AMA Assistant Director of Exhibitions. “An interesting fact about silver gelatin prints, for instance, is that this type of process was used as early as 1873. It was the first process to develop photographs with chemicals instead of light. It is so cool that some of the artists in the show utilized this technique a century and a half later!”

After 30 years in downtown Arlington, on March 30, 2024 the AMA opened inside the Arlington Expo Center at 1200 Ballpark Way in the Arlington Entertainment District. Now, with eight times the exhibition space of its previous location, the AMA has the physical and creative capacity to serve as the premier visual arts destination for the City. The museum is located next to the future National Medal of Honor Museum (opening in 2025), AT&T Stadium, Choctaw Stadium, and Globe Life Field.

In addition to the Texas Photographic Society 36th Annual Member Show, visitors can experience two more special exhibitions, also showing at the Arlington Museum of Art through June 23:
