HELP CENTER GALLERY: Texas Photographic Society Annual Show 36

The Arlington Museum of Art is proud to present the Texas Photographic Society’s 36th Annual Members Only Show.

MOS36 debuted in January at the Buddy Holly Center in Lubbock, Texas. The show was juried by Roy Flukinger, who selected 50 images by 50 artists. The show was open to all TPS member artists internationally, of all levels, who were at least 18 years old at time of entry. All photography-based work was encouraged including digital, silver, and alternative processes. You can learn more about the show and call for artists at texasphoto.org/members-only-show-36.

About the Juror

Roy Flukinger is an Independent Curator Emeritus and the former Senior Curator of the Harry Ransom Center at The University of Texas. In addition to his past administrative leadership and management at the Center, he has written and edited over a dozen publications and has taught and lectured at UT and many other institutions of higher learning. He retired in 2017 but continues to participate, lecture and teach actively in the field. He consults with a wide variety of individuals and institutions on the administration, funding and operation of photographic organizations; serves as juror, reviewer and evaluator for contemporary photographic groups, events and support organizations; and conducts peer reviews and evaluations for a number of professional and developmental organizations. He is currently at work on other books, articles and essays for various photographic and art publications.

About the HELP Center Gallery

The HELP Center for LGBTQ+ Health Gallery at the AMA has the heart of a local art gallery and the soul of a community gathering place. Celebrating diversity and encouraging artistic expression are its driving forces. Through an ambitious rotation of curated exhibits and related programs, the HELP Center Gallery provides a platform for emerging and established artists to showcase their unique perspectives and talents. Because there is no admission fee to the Gallery, it makes the transformative power of art accessible to all, encouraging people of all ages and backgrounds to explore, appreciate, and participate in the arts while fostering a shared sense of belonging.
