Downtown Knights in Downtown Arlington

Downtown Knights kicked off early this month with a free Game of Thrones trivia night at Hooligan’s Pub. Next up is a Harry Potter Trivia Night at Hooligan’s on November 1 starting at 7pm.

Telling the Knight’s Tale: Family Storytime at the Downtown Library is a free family-friendly series that includes books, songs, finger puppets, and more. The first story time event is 1 p.m. on Nov. 9, 2022 at the George W. Hawkes Downtown Library. Every adult who attends gets two $5-off coupons to see A Knight’s Tale at the AMA.

The Arlington Museum of Art is hosting many events and activities, including yoga classes in partnership with Arlington Yoga Center; guided tours of the exhibition in English and Spanishart talks, including one with noted Medieval historian and TV personality, Dr. Kelly DeVries; and adult-oriented art and wine painting parties and a whisky and wine night.

Additional Downtown Knights events will include a Knights-Who-Say-Ni Bar Crawl; a Monty Python trivia night at Hooligan’s Pub in early December, and more, plus food and drink specials offered by Downtown restaurants and bars. Oh, and you really ought to check out certain knights-inspired items on the menu, not to mention the stained glass windows, at J.R. Bentley’s.

Even the University of Texas at Arlington, which is located in Downtown Arlington, has chosen “Once Upon a Maverick” for its 2022 Homecoming theme.

“Downtown Arlington and the Arlington Museum of Art collaborated very successfully this summer on their previous exhibition, Disney Art from Private Collections.” said Maggie Campbell, President and CEO of Downtown Arlington. “Our efforts drew hundreds of attendees to themed events and countless visits to participating businesses. We’re looking forward to similar results with Downtown Knights, which leverages the unique entrepreneurial strengths—like collaboration and creativity—found throughout Downtown Arlington.”

Events and promotions will be added throughout the run of the exhibit. Information about Downtown Knights can be found on the Downtown Arlington website.
