How heavy is a Medieval sword?
How does chain mail work to protect a knight?
How long did it take a knight to put on his armor before going into combat or competing in a tournament?
Inspired by the armor, armory, and metalwork in A Knight’s Tale, the AMA invites you to meet and talk with members from the Warlord Combat Academy. Please be advised that although there is no additional cost to attend Show & Tell with the Warlord Combat Academy, an admission ticket to A Knight’s Tale is required to participate.

2pm: Show & Tell with the Warlord Combat Academy
Location: Arlington Museum of Art Education Center
Members of the WCA will bring authentic replicas of knights’ armor and arms that you can see and touch! WCA experts will also be on hand to answer questions and talk informally about Medieval combat and how it has evolved into a sport today.
3pm: Combat Demonstration with the Warlord Combat Academy
Location: Gene Allen Park (on the east side of the AMA building)
Hand-to-hand swordplay, demonstrated by members of the Warlord Combat Academy. Parents, please be advised that this is a demonstration that will involve authentic offensive and defensive fighting with swords by adults wearing replica full suits of armor. In case of inclement weather, the demonstration will be downsized and moved indoors.
The Warlord Combat Academy, located in Irving, TX, is dedicated to the learning and mastery of sword play. A “fighting community and a community that fights together,” WCA members “train and triumph inside and beyond the walls of the academy, and it is those same communities of likeminded nerds and athletes who we break bread and forge real and lasting friendships together.” Learn more at warlordcombatacademy.com
