West Main Arts Festival spans four blocks of West Main St. in Downtown Arlington in close proximity to Cultural District partners including the Levitt Pavilion, Arlington Public Library, Theatre Arlington, Miss Persis Studio of Dance, and the Arlington Museum of Art.
Every year, West Main features about 100 local artists/makers and several food vendors and trucks. There are three stages where local bands and talent perform throughout the day. West Main Arts Festival further activates the district with pop-up arts entertainment such as live painting, sculpting, and pottery. Free admission. Free parking in the 101 Center lot. #WestMain2023 #WMAF2023
To us, the perfect day is spent exploring and experiencing all kinds of art. That’s the idea behind AMA Art Hop! On our event calendar and in our social media, if you see an AMA Art Hop event listing, that means it’s taking place outside of the museum and is being organized by a cultural partner, school/university, or professional visual arts venue or space in or near Arlington. We love to share information about other visual arts exhibitions and festivals that are taking place in our area so you can discover them, too!
We’ve also been on the hunt for a directory of all the public art in Arlington. While these lists on their own may not be comprehensive, together they paint a great picture (see what we did there?) of how active our city’s public art scene has become:
