The artwork shows a commitment to geometric and biomorphic abstraction, referencing imagery by emphasizing line, color, texture and shape from the mid-80s up to his most current studio work.

Dr. Wood is a Professor of Art at the University of Texas Arlington where he directs the ceramics department. He has shown his work nationally and internationally for over 40 years, and is represented in a number of private and public collections in both the US and Europe. He also serves on the Arlington Museum of Art Board of Directors.

About AMA Art Hop

To us, the perfect day is spent exploring and experiencing all kinds of art. That’s the idea behind AMA Art Hop! On our event calendar and in our social media, if you see an AMA Art Hop event listing, that means it’s taking place outside of the museum and is being organized by a cultural partner, school/university, or professional visual arts venue or space in or near Arlington. We love to share information about other visual arts exhibitions and festivals that are taking place in our area so you can discover them, too!

Public Art in Arlington

We’ve also been on the hunt for a directory of all the public art in Arlington. While these lists on their own may not be comprehensive, together they paint a great picture (see what we did there?) of how active our city’s public art scene has become:
