Award-Winning Artists included in the show are Gerard Bahon, a French Impressionist/Realist; Geraldine Brettmann, an Abstract Expressionist; James Haddock, specializing in Mixed-Media; Kelly Pevehouse, a Three-Dimensional Artist and Sculptor; Elva Robinson, Photographer, Digital Artist and Paper Sculptor; Linda Gilpin, Sculptor and Fused-Glass Artist; Kathy Kline, a Mixed Media Artist; Roberta Mallard, an Impressionist; and Darlia Hobbs, specializing in Mixed Media. Other artist include: Michael Kolanko, Connie Parnell, and Yuri Trushin.
The artists come from a varied background and each has a special take on their art. Bahon, after many years in the hotel industry became a self-taught artist. Brettmann studied art for 30 years and uses line and color in her abstract expressions.
Haddock, with a passion for art, uses mixed-media to reflect the colors and textures of nature. Pevehouse, who works in many medias including encaustics, glass and handmade fiber, recently won first place awards at the Texas State Fair.
With a recent solo exhibit at the Arlington Museum of Art, Robinson has been involved in artistic endeavors most of her life. Gilpin, an award-winner at this year’s Texas State Fair, loves the magical quality of fused glass.
Kline has always loved the freedom of art. She enjoys the playfulness, creativity, and freedom of mixed media and experimental art. Hobbs, also working in mixed media, has won many awards and is a member of the Arlington Visual Arts Association and FW Society of Watercolor Artists. Mallard, an Impressionist, creates commissioned portraits, landscapes and figurative scenes. She was recently honored to be chosen for the National Spirit of Texas Show in Graham, Texas.
